What a weekend…& Oh my gosh, it’s November!

This was truly a very busy weeked and it had nothing to do with the fact that it was Halloween weekend.  I started out the weekend by working on a new piece of furniture that I purchased last Monday (I go to Goodwill to help my mother purchase a piece of furniture and she leaves with nothing and I end up with a new cabinet piece).  I needed to get it stripped so that I can restain and paint it; so I started the stripping process Saturday.  It was an all day affair (after I went to the grocery store and did some other errands…you know my first job – wife & mom – duties).  I stopped working around 5:30 when I ran out of stripper and the temperature and daylight started dropping.

I went out to dinner with my parents and then came home to a cup of hot chocolate and a new book.  I fell asleep around 11 but woke up (and I mean WOKE UP!) at 1 am on the dot.  I came wide awake at 1 am and could not go back to sleep.  My brother was snoring VERY loudly, but that had nothing to do with my wideness. 😦  I laid in the bed for about an hour before I decided to read some to pass the time.  I became sleepy again around 4 am and thought “oh great..I might get enough sleep to still go to church in a couple hours”.  I went to sleep only to wake up again promptly at 5:30.  At that point there was no way I was going to church in the morning and that was just a let down for me.  My husband calls at 7:15 to see if I was going to church because Kristian wanted to go and he wasn’t feeling well; but I promptly told him that I was finally getting sleepy again so no I was not going  myself.

I talked to Stan for about a half hour then got off the phone so that I can try and sleep again.  I slept for about 45 minutes then woke up.  This rediculas process went on for about 2 hours before I got up and when to the store to get red food coloring (I made a Red Velvet Roll – like a jelly roll, but red velvet cake and awesome creme filling – for dessert) and Worchestshire Sauce (for the Salisbury Steak with Mushroom gravy and mashed potatoes).  I got breakfast at Hardee’s, came home and ate it in bed (I know this is wrong, but I’m sleep deprived) then went back to sleep until the phone rang.

As I’ve stated before we are looking at houses for the move next year, and my mother and sister has seen the house I’m leaning towards.  My mother asked if I wanted to show my dad the house.  I said cool and give me about 1 1/2 – 2 hours.  I got up made my cake and sauteed onions and garlic for my salisbury steak.  I talked to Kristian and told her to make sure she calls me before she heads out for Trick or Treating so that I could get pictures and not wait until the last minute so that I could have time to get there.  I reiterated this same thing to Stan and headed over to my parents.  I got a call from my offspring at 4 saying, “Momma you need to come over right now, I’m about to go”.  What happened to calling me with enough time to get over there?  I called Stan to figure out what happened to my fair warning and of course it was all a case of miscommunication.  :s  I initially thought to rush over there and try to get some pics, but after thinking about it I just said forget it…this is stupid, I’m not rushing; I’ll finish dinner, pack Kristians clothes for school tomorrow and take the candy I bought for Halloween over to the house when I get ready.

I finished up my dinner, made my delivery, returned home and watched 3 episodes of CSI (Vegas the original that I still like although Grissom is gone).  I went to bed to watch a little tv and give my brother a chance to get some sleep.  I woke up at 5:30 to get ready for work…I’m working today so that I can be off on Friday for my churches Women’s Conference weekend.

The biggest surprise is that is now November 1st!!!  I really need to get my daughters Christmas lay-a-way going.  Anyone else procrasting about Christmas besides me.  Remember, I love a bargain and budget; so this last minute stuff is for the birds.

Oh well…happy Monday everyone. 😀
